IDS Vancouver, The Future Neighbourhood

Don’t Forget Me

Our team was honored to be part of the ‘Future Neighbourhood’ feature at the Interior Design Show Vancouver, where we showcased our vision for the future of design. With the help of digital artist Jonny Ostrem, “Don't Forget Me" was an invitation into a dialogue that explores the evolving relationship between humans and AI within the realm of design. As we navigate this technological frontier, the installation reflected on our innate connection to nature—particularly the dense, forested landscapes of the West Coast that we call home.

Looking toward the future of design, we envision a seamless integration where the forest is not just an aesthetic addition, but an integral part of our interior spaces. This is a future where nature and design truly become one, inviting the forest back into our environments, allowing it to coexist and thrive within our built spaces.

In this context, AI emerges as a surprising ally, offering the potential to enhance our connection to these natural landscapes. By helping to create these environments, AI can play a role in designing spaces that pull humans back together, fostering connection and community. This installation served as both a reflection and a reminder: as we advance in our designs and technologies, we must not lose sight of the human connections that ground us—connections that AI may help to nurture and sustain.

WEAVE

After our display at IDS Vancouver, we were excited to continue the conversation with ‘WEAVE’, an extension of Don’t Forget Me. This project was a collaboration with fabrication artist Kristen Parry and Nicholas Waissbluth of WAO, bringing together creativity and craftsmanship. Our goal was to design a playful, immersive space that reimagines the role of hotel restaurants—not just as dining spaces, but as hubs that shape the urban fabric, spark interaction, and foster meaningful connections.

We were honoured to receive the Sustainability Award at the show, among a group of many other thoughtful designers. Many elements of our booth will be reused including the modular table clamps, the paneling that made up the perimeter of the space, as well as the hanging art installation.

Jaybird Series

A Moment to Unwind

At the heart of our company is the belief that real connections happen when people feel comfortable and welcome. That’s why we launched A Moment to Unwind—a casual gathering at Jaybird’s Yaletown studio where people can chat, recharge, and connect in a way that feels natural. We wanted to create something different—an easygoing space where conversations flow without pressure. With its stunning design by Ste. Marie Studio, Jaybird sets the perfect vibe, instantly putting guests at ease. Stay tuned for more of these events in the months ahead—maybe even at their new studio, built by us!
